What happens when you are too high and drunk to successfully lead police on a chase?

You wake up in the hopsital with absolutely no teeth and a surgery scar from ear to ear! This is exactly what happened to a 23 year old man today! He was so drunk and had so many drugs in his system that he could not drive safely during his 100 mph police chase! Luckily for him there is a dedicated oral surgery team that could patch him up all afternoon and evening so he could probably end up worse off next time!! How sad really. It's amazing what people resort to!

Halloween night!

Halloween day turned out to be quite crazy! I spent most of the day laying on the couch sick, hoping Dave really would be home around early afternoon like he was supposed to so he could get everyone ready and take them trick or treating, BUT of course that didn't happen. Dave couldn't leave a brain surgery patient until after 5:00. So I managed to get up off the couch and get going.

Hallie was supposed to be Cinderella, but as you can see she wasn't! I even tried to pay her $11 to wear her adorable dress mom bought her awhile ago. Unfortunately, she had to dress up like a farmer for school and she really wanted to stay a farmer for trick or treating. Haden wears this every day, so for me he didn't look any different AND Dallin was very excited to be Zorro after watching the movie with Papa when we were home this summer. Whatever floats their boat works for me beacuse as you read earlier I am not a big Halloween lover. We did end up with a HUGE bag of candy though with a lot of really good candy!! I can't wait to see how much we will have next year when Harrison is old enough to go. The benefits of having so many kids!

Hospital Halloween party

The kids have made a lot of friends with the other residents kids. This is at the annual Halloween party for the hospital. There were so many activites and games and WAY to many people there!
Here is Dave's costume for the night. I think this ends up being his costume every year. He always talks about dressing up, but never does anything about it until last minute and this is what we have in the house. Maybe I should be a good wife and get something figured out and ready for him, but Halloween is really not my favorite time of the year. Maybe it's because when I was little, I always got witch socks or ghost earrings for my birthday which is on the 29th. (Actually, I even got goofy stuff for my birthday just a few years ago from Emily!) Or maybe because I always thought it was wierd dressing up and asking for candy in the freezing cold.

Apple Orchard

The kids were sad they couldn't go to Roca Berry Farm in Nebraska this year, but we found an apple orchard that was almost as much fun.

The swinging rope was the highlight of the orchard.
